Welcome to Across Vietnam - A Digital Unit Plan for Teaching About the History of Vietnam

This unit covers a course of study on the history and culture of Vietnam in accordance with 6th, 7th, 10th and 11th grade California State Standards.

Essential Questions

The unit seeks to inform the following essential questions:

What relationship should exist between a government and its people?
Under what conditions do countries/societies have the right to rule themselves?
In what ways does culture help and hinder society?

Unit Questions

The unit seeks to answer the specific unit questions:

What relationship existed between Vietnamese rulers and their subjects, and how did this relationship change over time?
In what ways did the Vietnamese people deal with foreign rulers?
How did Vietnamese cultural traditions impact their political actions?
